How Roald Dahl is relevant to my life

I didn't realize but sometime in between finishing my portfolio and
starting a new diploma I grew to really enjoy blogging

I read this really excellent quote from Roald Dahl
who was once asked for advice on how to become a great author
he replied
"...sure practice writing but READ AS MUCH AS YOU CAN"

..and I feel thats all I've been doing the last 6 or so months
reading and listening to my friends, teachers, parents and lovers
and while I can be quiet
I sometimes feel that I am so filled with these
small instructions, lectures or gossip from the people I work with or love
...I am moved to speak or act

writing posts about my life (however quiet or mundane it is)
is really cathartic

I think Photography is also one of the freest forms of expression
So without further ado
Here are some of the photos from my recent adventures

two Day

More and more I find myself thinking that
it is very important to harness and create your own world.

I am torn between reading and absorbing different sad and really terrible news of things
Humans have been doing.

and wanting to curl up in bed and draw castles all day.

I'm sure its not just me having this defence mechanism?
There is a current trend of the HOMEBODY

Rejecting all the consumerism and material goods hoopla
& Retreating inward to focus more on relationships and becoming self reliant and sustaining.

My belief is that to exist nowadays you have to reach the mythical MIDDLE GROUND
you can be an informed intelligent and good person without being an eco-warrior
or signing up for the socialist alliance.

Rather its the realization of what is more important.
Valuing relationships, environment, creativity and expression than the religion
that is Money and Celebrity.

"In contemporary culture the fabricated, the inauthentic and the theatrical have displaced the natural, the genuine and the spontaneous until reality itself has been converted into stagecraft. Americans increasingly live in a world where fantasy is more real than reality.
Commodities and celebrity culture define what it means to belong,
how we recognise our place in society and how we conduct our lives."- Empire of Illusion
