"For my part I know nothing with any certainty,

but the sight of the stars makes me dream."

  - Vincent Van Gogh

When I was really little my sister won an fat glossy
artbook at school, "The Life of Vincent Van Gogh."

What I never suspected was that it would fuel my lifelong love of Impressionism:
the colours, the textures, the movements all spoke to me so strongly as a little girl that even now no other art can move me the same way.

Sweet Spot

Finishing my studies have been bittersweet
(...unfortunately leaning too far into the bitter than the sweet!)
and rather than enjoy my newfound freedom in re-reading Harry Potter
and waking up at midday...I am faced by resounding fear that most graduates
feel in their innermost body and soul.

What the fuck do I do now?

All I know is that I feel entirely too young and too old in this skin of mine
so I have commenced a battle plan of sorts to try and feel more of like a carefree young female than a crotchety old spinster.

Wish me luck!

When you're not sure if it's day or night

This pretty much sums up my life at this point,
manic procrastination followed by periods of dragging unimpressed partners onto photo-booth.

(*not seen are images of me later tearing my hair out when I realize it's 12am and I haven't started monolithic assignments 1, 2 & 3.)

Happy Days!

Things I've been doing....FEB/MARCH!

Ugh...as predicated I am in the midst of precariously balancing
6 marketing subjects AND an unpaid//part-time copywriting gig.
Life is a jumble of 8am classes, kilos of "sustenance" candy and
counting down the months (2!) until I finish.

I also find myself having these increasingly detailed daydreams in which I have enough cash to spend on internet things. The amount of restraint I've had to
impose upon myself re. Ebay has reached alarming proportions...

(2x leopard print items may/may not have made it's way into my wardrobe...)

Anyway! Instead of bemoaning away.. I am going to do an unapologetic photo-dump in lieu of actual interesting blog content. So far in 2012 I have:

-Had a birthday (cowboys and indians themed!)
-Celebrated my Mamma's 51st
-Started the drudgery of writing marketing reports
-Overcame my abject terror of public speaking by giving a 40min powerpoint presentation
-Said goodbye to some really good people (MISS YOU ALREADY)
-Bought a rabbit night light
-Went to super good nature
...& Had the most kickass intern/freelance experience over summer break
   (Harro Yelp.com.au!)

Yup...I'm sure I had other good things to yak on about,
but I'm hitting a memory blank.

I mainly can't wait for that feeling of handing in the last assessment
//having celebratory drinks with friends!

Summer Musings pt 2.

Without sounding too much like a show'n'tell // "My Summer" school paper
The very very best part of my december/jan was Woodfordia,
A truly crazy, creative and winsome folk fest.

In short
I laughed I cried ate falafel and danced in the African tent.
A beautiful start to the new year.

(Also we grew sunflowers! they are fucking awesome.)

Odds and Ends

This summer has definitely gone by too fast.
Between long awaited catchups with friends, inebriations
and small smatterings of creativity I found myself in the last week of January (?!)

I'm much too comfortable in my summer routines and habits so now I'm really
really not looking forward to the start of the new school year and the promise of more sleepless nights and business textbooks...ergh one more semester to go...
